San Leandro is a city in Alameda County, California. It is located in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area; between Oakland to the northwest, and Ashland, Castro Valley, and Hayward to the southeast. Agriculture was an important part of San Leandro’s history and cherries were one of the City’s most well-known crops. The city’s first Cherry Festival was held in 1909 and the tradition still continues today. San Leandro today has a vibrant commercial base attracting many successful businesses. It is a very neighborly city with many people commuting easily to San Francisco, Oakland and Silicon Valley.
